Mazie (Bates) Holbrook

Mazie B. Holbrook, 90 of Little Colley, passed away Friday, May 17,2024 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Mazie was the daughter of the late Farris and Lettie Johnson Bates. She was the widow of Vaughn Holbrook. Surviving is 1 son: Larry Holbrook of Colley Gap; 2 daughters: Margaret (James) Gentry of Whitesburg and Janice (Bob) Bingham; 1 sister: Carolyn Gilreath; 3 grandchildren: J.R. Raleigh, Scottie Holbrook and James Tyler Gentry; 2 great grandchildren: Mazie Raleigh and Peyton Raleigh. Mazie was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Carlos Bates, Hargis Bates, Raymond Bates and Harold Bates; 1 sister: Hazel Young. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Green Acres Mausoleum at Ermine, Kentucky.
