Pauline (King) Bates

Pauline Bates, 85 of Whitesburg, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Pauline was the daughter of the late Willie and Polly Banks King. She was the widow of Noble Bates.  Pauline was a wonderful homemaker, caregiver, cook mother and granny to everyone. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren who she loved more than anything. She was the best mom ever and no one would go hungry around her. Surviving is 2 sons: J.H. (Thelma) Bates and Noble Darrell "Joe" Bates all of Whitesburg; 2 daughters: Kathy (Duke) Mullins of Whitesburg and Euna Faye "Wissy" (James) Caudill of Tennessee; 1 stepdaughter: Vicki (R.W.) Lowe of Norton, Virginia; 1 sister: Linda Polly of Whitesburg; grandchildren: Justin Bates, Maegyn Meeks, Little Ike Caudill, Tarra Carroll, Jill, Rebecca, Vicki and Rick; great grandchildren: Kayson, Jace and Brylee. Pauline was preceded in death by 1 stepson: Bill Bates; and a host of brothers and sisters. Funeral: 2:00 O'clock P.M. Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Benny Pugh and Tim Allen officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.
