Randall Don Niece, affectionately known throughout the community as "Big Randy," was born March 20, 1966, and passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, at the age of 60.
A lifelong resident of Isom, Kentucky, Randy was more than a familiar face - he was a cornerstone of the community around him. Everywhere he went, he was greeted by friends, neighbors, and acquaintances, though to Randy, there were no strangers. His larger-than-life presence was matched only by the kindness, humor, and generosity he carried with him every day.
Randy was preceded in death by his beloved father and hero, Mr. Donald Ray Niece.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted son, Donovon Niece and spouse Sam Niece; his mother, Pearl Niece; his brother, Michael Niece, his treasured granddaughter, Nirvana Niece. He also leaves behind two stepchildren from a previous marriage, Will and Whitney.
Known as "Big Randy" not only because of his stature but because of the enormous heart he possessed, Randy never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether someone needed advice, assistance, or simply a laugh, he was always there with a smile and a story to tell.
Throughout his life, Randy took immense pride in hard work. From truck driving and coal mining to buying, selling, and repairing cars, he approached every job with dedication, integrity, and unmatched work ethic. Even in retirement, he found joy and purpose in staying busy and helping others however he could. More than anything, he was proud of the family he helped raise and support, especially his son and grandchildren.
Randall's legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched through his generosity, loyalty, and unwavering spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
