Randy Joe Morgan

Randy Joe Morgan, son of the late Jess and Imalee Gibson Morgan was born on November 11, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Randy passed from this life at his home at Isom, Ky August 28, 2025. Randy married Mary Ann Combs on July 4, 1981, at Black Bottom in Jeremiah, KY.  They had a traditional 4th of July celebration!

Randy loved being a truck driver, hunting, sports, listening to music, riding four wheelers spending time with his friends, so many of those friends have preceded Randy in death.  He looked  forward to fishing trips with his good friend, Gerald Blair.  He loved to deer hunt on his cousin Merles property in Finely, Marion County, KY.  So many of his friends would go with him on these hunting trips thru the years.   He so looked forward to those hunting trips each year to see Merle and Travis.  He loved playing basketball in High School and felt a great sense of pride and  privilege and a honor to have played under Coach Danny Bates at Letcher High school ... through the years he has told so many stories about Coach Bates.

This last year he has loved spending time with (Papaws Big Boy), his only grandson Nixon Haze Frazier, whom he loved so much

Randy loved his Country, held all veterans in the highest honor, regard and respect.  Randy assured us that he had put his trust and faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 

Randy is survived by his wife: Mary Ann Morgan; 1 daughter: Ashlee Nicole (Eric) Frazier; 1 son: Gerrard (Nancy) Clark; 1 grandson: Nixon Haze Frazier; 2 sisters: Freda Howard and Deborah (Craig) Dixon; brother in law: Lee Roy (Diana) Combs; nieces: Jessie Lee Perry, Brandi (Lance) Meek, Jennifer (Richard) Shepherd; nephew: Justin Lee (Jasmine) Combs; special friends: Joe and Ian Adams, Nigel Nichols, Tommy Gibson, Orville Collins, Robert Halcomb, Craig Dixon, Craig Bailey, Barry Wright, Henry Madden, Verna Adams, and many more; special cousin whom he loved: Merle Begley along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Randy was preceded in death by his parents: Jess and Imalee Morgan; brothers in law: Galen Howard and Teddy D Adams; nephew: Steve Perry.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 O'clock P.M. on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church with Bill Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the W.M. Gibson Cemetery at Isom, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church.
