Raymond Allen Brown, 82 of Dry Fork, passed away Friday February 27, 2026, at his residence. Raymond was the son of the late John and Cora McFall Brown. Surviving is his wife: Beryl Preston Brown; 1 son: Dale (Melissa) Brown; 1 daughter: Connie (Carlos) Sturgill; 6 sisters: Vera Adams, Barbara Collins, Shelia Cornett, Brenda Sumners, Shirley Belcher, and Vonda Cook; 2 grandchildren: Destiny (Shane) Hall and Carla Sturgill; 1 great grandchild to be: Lincoln Reed Hall along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Raymond was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Edwin, Watson, Ralph, Johnny, Donald, and Arthur; 4 sisters: Naomi, Debbie, Loretta, and Linda. Ray was a smalltown boy who left the only home he ever knew before the age of 18 to serve in the Air Force. While serving he was stationed in Stephenville Newfoundland Canada where he met the love of his life Beryl. In December of 1965, he moved back home and Beryl followed on June 4, 1966, they got married and started living the American Dream. In 1969, they welcomed their baby girl Connie and then in 1975 their baby boy Dale arrived. Ray and Beryl ran a store for 18 years. He also went on to have a gutter business, work in the coal mines, and was in construction. Ray loved camping on Black Mountain, coon hunting, animals, working in his bees; he loved going fishing, but most of all he loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, pap, and soon to be grand-pap. Ray was the light that stood out in every crowd. He was loved and cherished by everyone who ever met him. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 O'clock A.M. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Dock Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at Dry Fork, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
