Reo (Halcomb) Cornett

Reo Halcomb Cornett of Linefork passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. 

She was born on February 6, 1935 being 86 years, 9 months and 7 days of age at the time of her passing.

Reo was the daughter of the late Arthur Bee and Nervie Eldridge Halcomb and the widow of the late Jason Cornett. A native and life long resident of Letcher County.

She is survived by 8 children: Vivian and Larry Combs of Linefork, Bee and Theresa Cornett of Gordon, Emory and Tracey Cornett of Holton, Indiana, Grace and Gary Halcomb of Linefork, Nervesta and Randy Joe of Cowan, Roy and Mona Cornett of Linefork, Timothy and Shannon of Linefork, Jason Cornett Jr. and Diane of Holton, Indiana; son-in-law: David Boggs of Cowan; 29 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She is also survived by 1 brother: Clifford and Maxine Halcomb of Cumberland; 1 sister: Roxie Lovelace of Florence, Ky; caregiver: Paula Boggs; 1 special niece; Lois Thornsberry and family. 

She was preceded in death by 4 children: Haywood, Priscilla, Major and Ada; 1 great grandson: David Boggs "Pee Wee"; 1 granddaughter: Ashley Osbourne; 7 sisters; Maxine, Lola, Maudie, Myrtle, Elsie, Shirley and Freda; 4 brothers: Hillard, Ellis, Curtis and Atlas. 

Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Defeated Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Roger Dale Fields and others officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Monday at the Defeated Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Cornett Cemetery at Linefork, Kentucky.
