Stewart Whitaker

Stewart Whitaker, 93 of Blackey, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Stewart was the son of the late Solomon H. and Lonnie Mae Richardson Whitaker. Surviving is his wife: Frances Whitaker; 1 son: Greg (Margaret) Whitaker; 1 daughter: Sandra Wright; 1 brother: Larry Whitaker; 2 sisters: Betty Ann Eldridge and Glenna Caudill; 4 grandchildren: Anthony Stewart (Shannon) Cowden, Charles Wayne Cowden, Elizabeth Denise Brooke Dunn and Katie Diane (James) Owens; 6 great grandchildren: Liam, Asher, Spencer, Cassandra Mae, Alexis and Timmie. Stewart was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Edgar Whitaker, Virginia Caudill, Edna Caudill and Nona Roark. Funeral: 12:00 O'clock Noon, Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Visitation: 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Solomon H. Whitaker Cemetery at Carcassonne, Kentucky.
