Theresa Lynn Miles

Theresa Lynn Miles (Jones/Halcomb), 71, of Cowan, passed away February 1, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.

Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her parents, Ballard and Rose Miles of Cowan; her birth mother, Ivol Miles Finney; two husbands, Joe Halcomb and Bill Jones; her adoptive siblings, Glenn, Wayne, and Junior; and her brother, Michael David Sturgill.

Theresa was a retired nurse and former store owner. She was known for her huge heart, generous spirit, and the love she gave freely to those around her.

She leaves behind two children by birth, Kevin Ray Jones and Rosa Marie Halcomb; her partner, John Redford; the four Redford children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren she welcomed as her own; a host of family among the Jones clan; her beloved cousins and partners in crime, Debbie, Kathy, Sandi, Paul David, Gary, Kenny, and Barry; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews too numerous to mention.

Visitation will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Letcher Funeral Home.

She will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will carry on through all of us.
