Thomas John Gilbert, 48 of Blackey, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Thomas was the son of Tommy Lynn Gilbert of Springfield, Ohio and Kathy Shue (Manuel) Rodriquez of Whitesburg. Surviving other than his parents is his wife: Katelyn Taylor; 1 daughter: Izabella Gilbert of Eolia; 1 sister: Tonya (Ivan) 
Whitaker of Roxana; niece and nephew: Thomas (Krisey) Whitaker and Lacy Whitaker; great niece and nephew: Ivan Lee Whitaker and Delilah Whitaker; special family: Robbie and Denise Baker of Colson; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Dwayne and Melissa Caudill of Whitesburg. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandparents: Doug and Alberta Parsley and Cage and Marie Gilbert. Funeral: 7:00 O'clock P.M. Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Jones officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
