Verling Hall, 81, passed April 28, 2023 at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee with his family by his side. Verling was born in Neon, Kentucky to the late Hawk and Danola Hall on January 8, 1942. Verling is survived by his wife of 55 years: Bonnie. His daughter: Sabrina (Gary) Halcomb and one beloved grandson: Jaxston. Verling served in the Army for 3 years, where he traveled a lot of the world. He then provided for his family for 35 years as a coal miner. He loved old classic cars (if they were original) and loved to travel. Verling loved to cut grass and raise a garden (especially tomatoes). He was a good husband and devoted father. Verling was full of stories and everyone he met loved to hear them. However, the one thing he could never talk enough about was being a papaw. Even while on hospice "JJ" would bring him light on his dark days. Verling met the lord in 2000 and again in 2023. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. Funeral 1:00 O'clock P.M. Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Peake officiating. Visitation 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.
