Watson J.R. Adams, 75 of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Jeremiah, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Baptist Health in Lexington. J.R. was the son of the late Arthur and Helmer Thompson Adams. He was the widower of Sharon Gail "Shyrl" Griffie Adams. Surviving are his children: Michelle "Shelly" (Joseph "Beau") Smith, Brandon Jay "B.J" (Amber) Adams, and Sheena Gail Adams; siblings: Burnett "Bud" (Chris) Adams of Paulding, Ohio, Tony (Linda) Adams of Letcher, Kentucky, Janet (Roger) Hill of Hazard, Kentucky, and Debbie (Woody) Adams of Jeremiah, Kentucky along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. J.R. was preceded in death by siblings: Den (Judy) Adams, Alfred Adams, Billy Conn (Louise) Adams, Shannon Ray Adams, Geneva (Eugene) Adams, Reneva (Roger) Hayes, Anis Adams, Maggie Kay Adams, and Tammie Gay Adams. J.R. worked at Johns Manville in Defiance, Ohio. He was a Kentucky State Policeman where he retired. He owned a restaurant and a license plate business. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. - 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Blair Branch Old Regular Baptist Church.
