Waylon Whitaker, Hallie KY; Born 27 July 1948 to George and Devenee Whitaker; leaving behind two Brothers; Wayne (Ina Sue Caudill) Whitaker of Hallie, KY and Willie (Lisa C. Tackett-Deceased) Lee Whitaker of Sassafras, KY, a nephew Dewayne Whitaker, two nieces Shonna Lavonne (Gullett), Madonna Sue (Eades), our dearest cousin Dorothy Grace Ison and a close friend Joe Turner and a host of other family, friends, and fellow soldiers.
Waylon left the bondage of flesh and earth to join in the bosom of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost on 7 January 2021. Waylon a proud soldier of the Vietnam War serving his country for two years and three days; serving his country in time of need so that all people may live free. Waylon was a member of the Southeast Blacksmiths Association, Southeastern Kentucky Shawnee Eagle Tribe, DAV Post 64 and VFW Hazard Post 7387. Waylon known for his love of nature, his animals, and flashy red cars, never meeting a stranger will be greatly missed.
Graveside Service: 2:00 O'clock P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Jont Cornett Cemetery at Hallie, Kentucky with Glen Cornett, Don Halcomb, and Richard Hampton officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Friday at the Hurricane Valley Primitive Baptist Church.
