On November 20th, 2022 William Boyd Gibson son of William "Buster" and Mary Gibson left this world surrounded by his family and loved ones. Boyd was the 7th out of 11 of his brothers and sisters. Brothers Johnny Ray Gibson, Clarence Gibson, as well as sisters Ruth Madden and Goldie Tyree preceded him in death. His surviving family members Luther "Duke" Gibson, Walden Gibson, Winston Gibson, Pat Gentry, Wanda "Faye" Fields and Thomas "Tommy" Gibson. His wife of 52 years: Linda Sue "Susie" Gibson, married June 13th 1970, their children: James Henry Boyd "Bo" Gibson and Laura Beth King, and his grandkids, Zane William King and Zeke Alan King, know that he is smiling down on the world. He does not have to endure the pain that his body had went through for 27 long but miraculous years after a terminal diagnosis from his lung disease. Though we all mourn this incredible man's passing, we all must celebrate the legacy of a kind, humble and loving father, uncle and husband the likes this world may never see again. His work ethic, devotion to his faith in the Lord and sheer will to stay in this world was truly a miracle, in no large part to the doctors, nurses, health care professionals and most importantly of all his wife, Linda Sue Gibson. Never he spoke an ill word towards others. Many times when speaki9ng with anger in our hearts towards others he would say, "Please don't say those things." Boyd would give the shirt off his back to not only his family, but a complete stranger if he felt it would help them because "They needed it more than me." He was an incredible cook. You never tasted food so good in your life, and not matter how hard you tried, you cannot replicate his recipes even using the ingredients he provided you with. The only way I can explain it to you is that he poured his gentle heart and soul into everything that he made for us. We will all miss him, but please do not be sad. We all know he is in Heaven with his mother, father, siblings and the greatest people to grace this earth. Remember to rejoice and celebrate this man's life and strive to walk his footsteps. The world would be a much better place if we would only treat others as he. He will be deeply missed, but those that having been in his presence are all better people. Love and cherish the time you got to spend with him. Funeral: 2:00 O'clock P.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Allen Meyers and Caleb Combs officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Madden Johnson Cemetery at Isom, Kentucky.
