Willie Floyd Martin

Willie Floyd Martin, 76 of Beaverdam, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Willie was the son of the late Willis and Ruth Cook Martin. Surviving is his wife: Veletta Banks Martin; 1 daughter: Amy Suzanne (Freddie) Cornett of Nicholasville; 1 son: Willis Joseph (Ashley) Martin of Beaverdam; grandchildren: Willie Gavin Martin, Carter Rabon Cornett, Lillie Grace Martin and Troy Waylon Cornett. 4 sisters: Helen Mullins of Lexington, Teddy Hammond of Lexington, Margaret Gross of Jackson and Sherry Martin of Hazard; Willie was preceded in death by 1 sister: Joella Watts. Willie is a Vietnam Veteran, surface miner and foreman for 50+ years and a dozer operator. Memorial Service: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Banks officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the American Legion Cemetery at Whitesburg, Kentucky.
