Woodrow J.R. Phillips

Woodrow (J.R.) Phillips, Jr., age 68 of Whitaker, passed way Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center. J.R. was the son of the late Woodrow Phillips Sr. and Sarah Taylor Phillips. J.R. was a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife: Norma Gaye Phillips of Whitaker; 3 sons: Greg Phillips of Whitaker, Brian (Josh) Pike-Phillips of Whitaker and Kody Damron of Port Royal, South Carolina; 1 goddaughter: Kaylin Nobel of Deane; 1 sister: Anna (Orin) Beitel of Illinois; 1 brother: Carlos (Karen) Phillips of Fleming along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. J.R. was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral: 7:00 O'clock P.M. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
