Charlie Whitaker, 84, of Cornettsville passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Charlie was the son of the late Press and Mattie Campbell Whitaker. Surviving is his wife: Christine Brown Whitaker; 2 sons: Marion and Wynn. Marion and his wife, Twila Ison Whitaker have three daughters: Lesley Whitaker, Hannah Whitaker Collins (Ray), and Sydney Whitaker Cox (Tyler). Hannah and Ray have a small son (Charlie's only great grandchild), Connor. Wynn has one child, a daughter: Kelly Whitaker. Funeral:11:00 O'clock A.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Fields, Elwood Cornett, and Danny Dixon officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Brown - Sorrell Cemetery at Blackey, Kentucky.
