Hubert Hall

January 2, 1928 ~ April 25, 2016 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Hubert Hall of Sandlick,near Whitesburg in Letcher County, passed peacefully surrounded by family on the bright, sunny afternoon of April 25, 2016. Hubert was born January 2, 1928, to Harve and Callie Adkins Hall on Rockhouse in Letcher County. He was the eldest of five children and preceded in death by sisters Janice Hall (1940) and Eunice Mounts(2015). He is survived by brothers Ivan Hall (Shirley) of Lexington and Carl Hall (Anna) of Whitesburg. On February 24, 1945, Hubert and his sweetheart, Bessie Lee Banks, drove a coal truck to be married. Their love persisted through sickness and health, joy and sorrow. Hubert and Bessie proudly raised three children: Dr. Janet Hall Jones (JD Jones) of Lexington; Dr. Hubert Hall, Jr.,(Dr. Deborah Stanley) of Lexington; and Joan Hall Ward (Judge Jim Ward) of Whitesburg. Hubert enthusiastically and unconditionally loved, supported, and encouraged his grandchildren: Callie Jones of Baker, LA; Cara Jones Faye (Soce') of Annecy, France; Dr. Ashley Hall Bowen (Doug) of Lexington;J Tyler Ward II, Esquire, of Whitesburg; H. Andrew Hall III (Morgan) of Lexington; and Dr. Calvin Ward of Columbus, OH. Seeing his great-grandchildren energized and brought joy to Hubert: Tidiane and Adia Faye of Annecy, France; Emma Grace Hall of Lexington; and Olivia Bowen of Lexington. After Bessie's death in 1989, Hubert enjoyed the company of his special companion, June Breeding. June's son, Jamie Breeding, of Lexington continued as a special part of Hubert's life after his mother's death. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29th, at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church in Whitesburg, where a Masonic Service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m.. A service celebrating Hubert's life will commence at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 30th, at First Baptist Church in Whitesburg. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to The Hubert & Bessie Hall Family Charitable Fund at https://www.presbyterianmissionexchange.org/hallfamilyfund or to the Mountain Shrine Club designated for the Children's Hospital.
