Benjamin (Ben) Franklin went to be with Jesus on May 13, 2017. He was born at Millstone, KY on November 20, 1942, making his stay here on earth 74 years, 5 months, and 23 days. Ben was married to Cora Lee Sexton on November 17, 1963, and to this union was born two sons, Carl Everett Franklin (Colleen) of McRoberts and Edwin Lee Franklin (Melissa) of Millstone. He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters: Judith Carol Hampton (Paul) and Lela Ann Franklin of Millstone. Two brothers: Roger Wayne Franklin (Marsha) of Springfield, OH and Jesse James Franklin (Barbara) of Travelers Rest, SC. sister-in-law: Louise Rose (Kirby) of Millstone; 2 uncles: Jesse Franklin of Somerset and Bill Franklin of Peebles, Ohio grandchildren: Courtney Lynn Baker (Kevin) of Millstone, Christopher Benjamin Franklin and a special friend: Jessica Maggard of Neon, Colin Everett Franklin of McRoberts, Carley Noel Franklin of McRoberts and Alyssa Danielle Franklin of Millstone; 2 great grandchildren: Isaiah and Brenton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie E. and Euna Creed Johnson Franklin, and one grandson, Michael Lee Franklin. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in his passing. Ben worked for Boone Motor Company and Royal Crown Cola prior to working for Bethlehem Steel where he retired. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family. He had a very kind heart and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral: 12:00 O'clock Noon Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Visitation: 5:00 P.M. Monday at the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Chunk Craft Cemetery at Millstone, Kentucky.
